TIMELESS ALTITUDE 2011 EP (SLAM & EGBERT REMIXES)
12 Inch
10.01.11
created back in 1994 by secret cinema, no one could have predicted how timeless this track would turn out to be! if you are in to electronic music and live on this planet, theres a 75 percent chance youll recognise the weird reversed, reverbed piano riff! now, for the first time, the original is available digitally with remixes by slam, egbert and secret cinema himself that made their way to vinyl as well. the massive techno tune from 94 is ready for a little update! it can be a challenge to remix a track with so much history, but all three managed to complement the original while giving a unique spin to the track. the secret cinema 2011 remix is a peak time main room power tool that will turn a big crowd into a riot any day. slam take a deeper, more subtle approach that can hypnotize and rock a main room crowd without blowing their wigs off. finally egbert takes the track to a warmer funkier level, equipped with a funk-filled bass line and some warm pads over the top. a truly timeless package!!

jenifa mayanja, respected new york dj, producer and owner of bu-mako recordings, steps into the altered moods collective for an exciting two cut vinyl release, >desire more<. the first side slides into a subtle groove with voices and synthy keys over a beat itching to get you on to the dance floor. then a variety of warm melodies join in, bubbling and be-bopping onto the main cut, a collusion of claps, beats and riffs. jenifa comes back and leads us to a saucy clarinet that could be rehearsing in the next room, unaware of our presence. yet it echoes the feel of the piece, dancing away from and back to the rhythm.

groove charts pos 15. falko brocksieper is back on his recently relaunched sub static label with a 3-tracker called >beau rivage<. yet again all pieces on this ep are showing falkos love for slowly building, trippy techno arrangements, aiming at various states of the dancefloor. a catchy bassline paired with edgy electronic percussions and subtle harmonic overtones make the two latenight tracks >beau rivage< and >glow in the dark< a joy to play to a tenderized crowd. with the same signature organic feel falko weaves all the elements together on deeper track >mental hangover<, featuring vocals by benjamin fehr). this ep represents falkos tie to timeless electronic music, and his concern to keep classic themes alive & interesting.

please welcome a new member to the mojuba label family, sirko müller. to some of you sirko might not be so unknown, because hes in the game since the mid 90s and is one of the founding members of the label tokomak records, which was also founded by mojuba head honcho don williams back in the days, and he recorded also tracks for pure plastic sublabel rewired, styrax and milnor modern. after a long hiatus sirko is now ready for some new action, so to reintroduce him to you we decided to put out some of his classic tracks as well as some unreleased bits! its quite hard to believe that these tracks are from about a decade ago, because they are still sounding fresh but also capture that little dirt and roughness which still remembers to the early years of clubbing!

first on decks.de!! an outstanding record filled with a harmonic fusion of surprising musical contradictions.
a: ooh zoot: twinkle-toed minimal house spiced up with a jazz-flavoured funkiness. yet turmspringer easily manage to avoid the risk of staying superficial by flavouring the tune with with a unique strangeness.
b1: ooh zoot (laufmasche remix): the remix by laufmasche gets back to the essentials, produced with an elegant analogue feeling dominating the track and leading to an excessive peaktime eruption.
b2: in between 2 cigarettes: berlin based duett turmspringer tickles out the abstract minimal techno undertones >in between 2 cigarettes< garnished with vivid background noises. massive dancefloor capability!

DESOLAT X SAMPLER BLUE (2X12)
2x12 Inch
13.12.10
christmas is a time for people to come together. in that tradition, desolat celebrates a year packed full of music, with the second yearly christmas label sampler: a showcase of inspiring heavyweights alongside fresh talent from two continents, wrapped up in a big shiny bow. while last years christmas vinyl sampler was red, this years sampler will be blue: simply a beautiful sounding item in our favourite music format. all artists featured on the sampler have released music on desolat previously: some as special guests, some as cherished label staples. legendary chicago producer dj sneak jumps into the fray with a contemporary salsa-kissed house jam at a strapping pace, taste-making french don franck roger similarly digs deeps with the agile burner >egotrippin<. desolats taste for dancefloor atmospherics is further exemplified by loco dices stripped back and frisky track >dont make signal<, and martin buttrichs playful >roads<. livio & roby, premiesku, yaya and guti & audiofly also contribute their own takes on the desolat sound: with crunchy, sample-flecked grooves aplenty. its been a watershed year for desolat, with a super-wide variety of singles, remixes and long players by artists such as pulshar, ricardo villalobos, thomas melchior, marco passarani and der räuber & der prinz: musical explorations of submarine-worthy proportions. we are excited to see what 2011 will bring… stay tuned
